From One Light to a Complete Ecosystem
From 2009 to 2026, Mars Hydro evolved from a single LED grow light into a complete indoor growing ecosystem. As growers’ needs changed, Mars Hydro continued to develop better lighting, smarter controls, and more integrated growing solutions.
Starting With One Light(2009)
Mars Hydro began in Shenzhen, China, in 2009 with a simple goal: to help more growers grow better. The founding team invested in research, development, and production to create professional LED grow lights.
Through dedication and persistence, the founding team launched Mars Hydro’s first LED grow light and quickly gained attention from an initial community of indoor growers. Their feedback encouraged the team to keep refining the light, and Mars Hydro’s journey officially took off from there.
Building a Strong Foundation(2009–2015)
After entering the market, Mars Hydro continued to invest in R&D and strengthen its production capabilities. As demand for efficient indoor lighting grew, Mars Hydro expanded its product range and began serving growers around the world.
Making Indoor Growing More Accessible(2015–2018)
As indoor growing became more popular, Mars Hydro focused on making effective grow lighting more affordable and accessible to home growers. During this period, Mars Hydro launched products including the Mars II, Mars Reflector, and Mars Pro Series 2, helping establish its presence in the global indoor growing market.
Moving Toward Better Light (2018–2019)
As LED technology advanced and growers became more knowledgeable about plant lighting, the demand for more efficient, plant-focused lighting grew. In 2018, Mars Hydro launched the SP Series, featuring full-spectrum white LEDs designed to provide a more balanced light spectrum for indoor growing.
In 2019, Mars Hydro launched the TS Series, offering full-spectrum LED lighting designed to support plants throughout the growth cycle. With an emphasis on performance and affordability, the TS Series made professional-grade grow lighting more accessible to home growers.
Lighting Every Canopy Count(2020–2022)
By 2020, indoor growers were paying greater attention not only to how much light their plants received, but also to how evenly it was distributed across the canopy. To address this need, Mars Hydro developed the FC and FC-E Series with a multi-bar design that distributes LEDs across multiple light bars.
This configuration helps spread light more evenly across the growing area, providing more consistent PPFD throughout the canopy. The FC and FC-E Series marked another step in Mars Hydro’s approach to grow-light design, with greater emphasis on efficiency and light distribution.
From Single Device to Integrated Grow(2023–2025)
As indoor growing became increasingly sophisticated, growers were managing more than just lighting. Fans, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and other environmental equipment all played important roles in the grow room, making individual device control increasingly complicated.
Mars Hydro responded by developing the iControl Intelligent System. Through the iControl Smart Controller and iHub Smart Power Strip, compatible devices can be connected to the MarsPro App and managed from a central platform, bringing monitoring, scheduling, and device control into one place.
Smarter Indoor Ecosystem(2026)
By 2026, Mars Hydro had moved beyond simply controlling devices from a central platform. Connected lighting, ventilation, and other environmental equipment can share sensor data and respond to changing conditions, allowing different parts of the grow system to work together more intelligently and maintain a more consistent growing environment.
